Omega-3 to the Rescue!

The Great Omega-3 Rush

The Omega-3 craze has captured the attention of consumers all over the world during the last few years.  With everyone scrambling to discover the products that work best, companies are adding to the confusion by delivering "marketing messages and different ways to get omega-3s, but how much, what type, and how to get them can be hard to figure out," according to Gretchen Vannice, RD, author of Omega-3 Handbook (CreateSpace, 2011).

Are Omega-3s Really that Important?

Yes! "A diet deficient in omega-3 fatty acids, particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) results in altered cell membranes," according to Michael Murray, ND, author of What the Drug Companies Won't Tell You and Your Doctor Doesn't Know (Atria, 2010).  "Without a healthy membrane, cells lose their ability to hold water, vital nutrients, and electrolytes and to communicate with other cells."

What's the Solution?

One solution can be found in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which can be found in Black Seed Oil.  ALA can promote a healthy inflammatory response and (to a limited degree) be converted to DHA and EPA in the body.  The essential fatty acids contained in Black Seed Oil are crucial building blocks of cells.
